China joint venture consortium won the bid in the Southern Railway Project in Malaysia
In October 28, 2016, Chinese - Chinese iron - Chinese Railway built joint venture officially received the Malaysia Department of transportation "Malaysia Southern Railway project bidding letter", the project contract amount of 8 billion 900 million ringgit, which marks the project officially bid Chinese joint venture. China accounts for 30% of the shares in the joint venture.
The main contents of the project including design, construction, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, completion and maintenance of Gemas to Johore Bahru electrified double track railway. The new electrified double track railway is 191.14 kilometers from the Gemas station, stop at Johore Bahru central station, a total of 9 new passenger stations across the board, 2 vehicles and 3 near the railway station open. The design speed of 160 km / hour, track spacing for meter gauge, across the board for the ballasted track. This project is of great significance to promote the economic development in the southern region of Malaysia.
The project is funded enterprises in the first large-scale railway project in Malaysia to win, but also the three China infrastructure industry "pacesetter" for the first time in a joint way outside the major project bid.
