Qingdao Grand Theatre

       Qingdao Grand Theatre is an iconic building of Qingdao's public cultural facilities, with a total area of 87,000 square meters. Its exterior resembles two white pianos. It was designed by Mr. Meinhard von Gerkan, chief designer of the German GMP architectural firm. In December 2010, it was selected as one of the "Top Ten Qilu Cultural Landmarks" by the Shandong Province "Qilu Cultural New Landmark" Evaluation Committee. In November 2011, it won the "2010~2011 China Construction Engineering Luban Award". On October 12, 2013, at the "10th Art Festival Theatre Construction and Comprehensive Operation Summit Forum" held in Jinan, Shandong, Qingdao Grand Theatre was awarded the title of one of the Top Ten Theatres in China, along with Shanghai Grand Theatre, National Centre for the Performing Arts, Guangzhou Grand Theatre, and others.
