Guangdong Guangle Expressway Lechang Section Tunnel

The Dayaoshan Tunnel group of Guang(zhou)-Le(chang) Expressway totals 24.08 kilometers, all of which are separated tunnels with a total length of 34927 meters. There are 17 bridges. The tunnel group crosses the Dayaoshan Nature Reserve and mainly consists of the Gaolingbei Bridge (a high-pier bridge with the highest pier reaching 92 meters), Damaodi Super Large Bridge, Dayaoshan No. 1 Tunnel, Dayaoshan No. 3 Tunnel, and Yilinggang Tunnel, etc. Among them, the Dayaoshan No. 1 Tunnel, 4220 meters long, passes through the core area of the reserve, crossing 10 fractured zones. In addition, there is a reservoir on top of the tunnel exit, and the entrance is a 700m karst development zone, making the construction extremely difficult.

The tunnel group traverses the vast Dayaoshan Mountain, with complex terrain, inconvenient transportation, and extremely harsh construction conditions. The construction access road built for the project winds its way up the mountain, with a total length of over 120 kilometers, equivalent to the distance from Guangzhou to Shenzhen. The numerous road and bridge builders silently and diligently worked in this remote area, building a new "sky road" and once again demonstrating the selfless dedication and professionalism of the transportation workers.
