Qingdao Bay Bridge

       The Qingdao Bay Bridge starts from the Yangjiaqun entrance of Heilongjiang Road in the main urban area of Qingdao, crosses the Jiaozhou Bay waters, and ends at Hongshiya, Huangdao District. (Phase 1) The total length of the newly built section is 28.047 kilometers (Phase 2: 12 kilometers).The sea section is 25.171 kilometers long, with a 749-meter Qingdao side connecting line, an 827-meter Huangdao side connecting line, and a 1.3-kilometer Hongdao connecting line. The project's estimated investment is 9.04 billion yuan. The entire Bay Bridge project includes the Cangkou, Hongdao, and Daguhe waterway bridges, offshore non-navigable bridges, on-land approach bridges, Huangdao bank connecting lines, Hongdao connecting line, Licun River interchange, Hongdao interchange, and three main toll stations and management facilities in Qingdao, Hongdao, and Huangdao.

       The main bridge of the Qingdao Bay Bridge was completed on December 22, 2010, and officially opened to traffic at 2 PM on June 30, 2011.

       The total planned investment for the Qingdao Bay Bridge project is 9.082 billion yuan, implemented through a franchise operation. According to the "Company Law of the People's Republic of China", the project's own capital is 3.1 billion yuan, accounting for 35% of the registered capital, entirely invested by Shandong Expressway Group Co., Ltd.

       The Qingdao Bay Bridge project is invested and operated by Shandong Expressway, bundled with the Jiaozhou Bay Expressway. This project is currently China's largest traffic infrastructure project with a single state-owned enterprise investment, the first super-large bridge cluster project in the northern frozen sea area of China. Including approach bridges and connecting lines, its overall scale makes it the world's largest bridge.
