Harbin-Qiqihar High-Speed Railway

       The Harbin-Qiqihar High-Speed Railway, abbreviated as Harbin-Qiqihar HSR, formerly known as Harbin-Qiqihar Passenger Dedicated Line, is a high-speed railway connecting Harbin, the capital city of Heilongjiang Province, to Qiqihar City. It is a key project of the country's 12th Five-Year Plan, the first inter-city high-speed railway within Heilongjiang Province, and an important part of the Beijing-Harbin Passenger Dedicated Line in the "Four Vertical and Four Horizontal" high-speed railway network of the Medium and Long-Term Railway Network Plan.

       The Harbin-Qiqihar High-Speed Railway starts from Harbin and ends in Qiqihar, passing through 1 sub-provincial city, 1 large city and 2 prefecture-level cities in Heilongjiang Province. The design speed of the trains is 250 kilometers per hour, with a reserve capacity for 300 kilometers per hour. The total length of the line is 282 kilometers, and the total investment is 31.24 billion yuan.

       Construction of the Harbin-Qiqihar High-Speed Railway began on July 5, 2009, with a construction period of 6 years. According to announcements from China Railway No. 16 Bureau and China Railway No. 15 Bureau, the joint commissioning and testing of the Harbin-Qiqihar High-Speed Railway took place from May 21, 2015 to July 3, 2015, followed by trial operation from July 4, 2015 to August 7, 2015. The operating rolling stock is the CRH5 high-cold type.

       After the official operation of the Harbin-Qiqihar High-Speed Railway, the journey from Harbin to Qiqihar will take 90 minutes.
