Beijing South Railway Station

Beijing South Railway Station, under the jurisdiction of the Beijing Railway Bureau, is currently a directly-administered first-class station and a highly modern passenger railway station in China. In terms of passenger volume, it is the third largest railway station in Beijing, after Beijing West Railway Station and Beijing Railway Station. In terms of station scale, it is the largest and busiest railway station in Beijing. It is located at Yongwai Railway Station Road, Chongwen District, Beijing, and its current address is No. 12, Yongwai Street, Fengtai District, Beijing.

Originally named Yongdingmen Railway Station, before 2006, Beijing South Railway Station mainly provided slow and short-distance transportation services. The station was decommissioned on May 10, 2006, for expansion and renovation. On New Year's Eve, January 28, 2007, the main station building project broke ground. On August 1, 2008, Beijing South Railway Station officially opened for operation, becoming the passenger station for the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway and the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway in Beijing. Beijing South Railway Station mainly handles the transportation of EMU trains in East China, and the starting and ending points of the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway. At the same time, Beijing South Railway Station is also a transit station on the existing Beijing-Shanghai Railway.
