       Located in Tianwan, Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant is surrounded by sea and backed by several small islands of Yun Tai.

       Jiangsu Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant represents high-tech cooperation in the nuclear energy field between China and Russia, driven by their deepening political trust, development of economic and trade ties, and strengthening of strategic partnership. It is the largest technological and economic cooperation project between the two countries to date and a key nuclear power construction project launched during China's Ninth Five-Year Plan. It is located in Tianwan, Liuhe Village, Gaogongdao Township, Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province.

       The first phase of the Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant is the largest technological and economic cooperation project between China and Russia to date. Units 1 and 2 were put into commercial operation in May and August 2007, respectively. The Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant plans to build eight nuclear power units with a total capacity of 10 million kilowatts. Currently, construction of units 3 and 4 of the second phase has begun, each with a capacity of 1 million kilowatts.
