The Mombasa Expressway is located on the southern coast of Mombasa, a port city in Kenya, connecting KenyaA109National Highway, Mombasa Railway Station, Mombasa Railway Freight Station, Mombasa International Airport, and Mombasa Port Container Terminal, realizing seamless connection of Mombasa's land, sea, and air transportation hub and providing strong support for the rapid development of the port area's economy.

The project is divided into three phases. The first phase mainly involves the construction of a main line with a total length of10.37kilometers13.33kilometerssets1setssets10 sets66 sets900meters; The third phase is across the sea from the first phase, and the project involves the construction of a new6.86kilometerA14auxiliary roads, etc.6.184 kilometers,A14bridges80 meters, culverts12 sets590 running meters. After the expressway is fully completed, it will connect Mombasa's main urban area with the south bank, shortening the transportation distance of goods from the south bank to the port and airport from16 hours to a few hours, effectively promoting the economic development of the Mombasa region.

The project involves a complex range of engineering, including bridge engineering, steel structure engineering, power engineering, monitoring systems, static and dynamic weighing systems, toll stations, and railway relocation. Technically, it encountered unfavorable geological conditions such as deep mud backfilling, expansive soil landslide treatment, uneven settlement of large fills, and groundwater gushing in the roadbed. Through the efforts of the engineering personnel, many technical difficulties have been overcome, and a group of local technical backbones have emerged, ensuring the talent support for subsequent construction.
