MTPThe highway project is located in western Uganda, with a total length of159 kilometers, and commenced in2018 year4month. The plan is to upgrade the existing road to an asphalt concrete pavement, including one Nile River bridge, six small bridges, box culverts22 units, and pipe culverts209 units and prefabricatedTbeams91 units. The project runs through Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda's largest wildlife reserve, crossing the Nile River. Upon completion, it will support oil exploration and transportation in the Albertine Graben, promote local and national economic development, and serve as a crucial component of Uganda's Albertine Graben oil transportation road network.

As the project crosses the Nile River, a520 meter-long Nile River bridge needs to be constructed in the Para area. This bridge is a continuous simply supported beam bridge with a total of13 spans, each with a span of40mprestressed concreteTbeams,56 piles, of which36 are deep-water, fast-flowing grouting piles in complex geological conditions.

MTPThe highway has a102 kilometer-long section traversing the wildlife reserve. The reserve is abundant with wildlife, demanding stringent environmental protection measures and posing challenging construction conditions. The project conducted a thorough ecological survey, carefully planned and designed the project, and strictly implemented a series of environmentally friendly construction measures, contributing to Uganda's environmental and wildlife conservation efforts.

After the successful completion of the bridge, crossing time between the two banks will only takeminutes, ending the history of Para residents relying on onlyferry trips per day or taking a detour via land for nearlyhours to cross the river. This project provides safe and convenient transportation conditions for the local population while also improving the local employment environment, promoting economic development, and improving the people's livelihoods.
