The Burundian Presidential Palace is located in the northeastern suburbs of Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi, approximatelykilometers from the city center, and construction began in2015 year. The total construction area is approximatelysquare meters, covering an area of52900 square meters. It mainly includes the Presidential Office Building, guard houses, equipment rooms, and a sewage treatment plant.

After completion, the project can accommodate the President, two Vice Presidents, and their work teams' office spaces, and is equipped with complete supporting facilities. This project is the largest Chinese aid project in Burundi to date, and it is also a landmark building in Burundi, earning a good reputation for Chinese engineering construction in the local area.

China's aid in building the Presidential Palace for Burundi enabled the Burundian government to have its own Presidential Palace for the first time since its independence in1962 year, reflecting the highest level of friendly cooperation between Burundi and China.
