The Bahar Dar Cable-stayed Bridge is located in the Abay district of Bahar Dar City, Amhara Region, Ethiopia, at the source of the Blue Nile River.-Downstream of Lake Tana3.38kilometers away. The main bridge is a two-tower, three-span, low-tower cable-stayed bridge with a total length of380meters, and a main span of180meters. The design speed is100kilometers per hour, with two-way8lanes and a total of8cable towers. The single-span bridge width is24.7meters, including3lanes,1bicycle lanes and1pedestrian walkways. After completion, the bridge will become a new landmark for Bahar Dar City, enhancing its image and promoting its economic and social development.

 

The Ethiopia Bahar Dar Cable-stayed Bridge project adopted theDBmodel (design-build model). The main pier foundation engineering is located in the riverbed-and uses impact drilling technology. It is the cable-stayed bridge with the highest technical difficulty and the largest main span in Ethiopia.,The completion of the Bahar Dar Cable-stayed Bridge will greatly promote trade between the north and south regions of Ethiopia, contributing to local transportation and economic development, and becoming a symbol of friendship and friendly cooperation between China and Ethiopia.
